Toshiba Satellite L675D-S7106 Laptop Review

Desktop replacement laptops are quite popular these days. It combines a desktop’s proven capabilities with a laptop’s portability. Toshiba, one of the leading brands when it comes to producing laptops, has a contender in this ever expanding niche. This is the Toshiba Satellite L675-S7106. But is it really up to the hype? We are going to find out in this Toshiba Satellite L675-S7106 Laptop review.

Upon checking its dimensions, you are going to see that it is quite bigger when compared to other laptops. Complete with a 17.3 inch screen that boasts a 1600 x 900 resolution, this is high definition exemplified. It can even play 1080p videos and graphics with ease. To take advantage of this distinctive feature, it even has a Blu-Ray drive so you can watch those HD movies anywhere you like. As for processors, there are a lot to choose from: an Intel Pentium, an AMD Turion II, an Intel Core I3, or an AMD Phenom II. Combined with a 500GB hard drive capacity with a 4GB memory, it is a force to be reckoned with. As expected with laptops this large, the keys are quite large and solid, and the keyboard feel is beyond decent. But even though the keys are rock solid, its arrangement is quite questionable in my opinion as it is quite easy to press the wrong buttons with its configuration. In addition, while the touchpad is quite good, it’s placed in such a compromising spot that it is too easy to hit it unintentionally. And despite its size, you can carry this thing around with ease, topping the scales at just over 6 and half pounds. And to top it off, it carries all the equipment and ports that you’re expecting to see on laptops, even though it doesn’t have Bluetooth.

Now, this is the more interesting part of this Toshiba Satellite L675-S7106 Laptop review, as I am now going to share the experience of owning this big unit. For starters, this operates quite amazingly given its price tag. Graphics is one of its strongest suits with 1080p HD capability standard on this laptop. The quality of its keypad and touchpad are impressive, as is its multitude of laptop features such as webcam, microphone, and even a phone jack. Furthermore, it has slots for USBs, headphones, SD cards, and other kinds of ports that you expect on a desktop replacement. In addition, the hard drive and processor choices are quite excellent, and should serve you well in most applications. However, with an outdated Radeon HD 4250 Graphics Processor, you can have a problem running the latest games. And demanding programs such as those for video editing can be quite difficult to use in this computer. Lastly, there’s the questionable ergonomics. With keys and the touchpad misplaced, it’s too easy to accidentally press stuff.

So how would I conclude this Toshiba Satellite L675-S7106 Laptop review? Sure the ergonomics can use some work, and the graphics processor can use an update. But you can’t top its multitude of top notch features. As long as you’re not going to use demanding programs such as video editing software or the latest games, I’m recommending this laptop for you.
