Toshiba Qosmio X775 3D Laptop Review

It is the year of 3D. Technology is developing in such a rapid pace. 3D started with movies, then televisions, and now, laptops. Toshiba Qosmio X775 3D laptop is another innovation not only in technology but also in the world of gaming. If you are looking for a laptop that is an everyday performer and an intense gaming partner, the X775 could be the one that you are looking for.

The Toshiba Qosmio X775 3D laptop has a very attractive and sexy color scheme, a perfect combination of black and red. The deck is surfaced with a plastic with horizontal lines across it, similar to an artificial wood grain with a charcoal gray color that fades to red. Similar to the charcoal gray textured plastic deck is the lid with a combination of glossy black paint. The keyboard is designed in a Chiclet-style way and is composed of square black keys that are backlit. A number pad is provided which makes it more convenient to gamers. This pad also prevents accidental hitting of other keys while gaming. Just above the keyboard is a row of keys which includes the power button, Eco mode, WiFi key and the 3D vision feature. Let us not forget the media control keys: mute, volume, and play/pause. Just below the keyboard is the matte-finished touch pad that supports multi-touch gestures. A enable/disable button for the touch pad is also designed for this laptop.

X775 3D possess features that are efficient for multimedia functions and entertainment use. But this machine is focused on gaming. The Qosmio X775 is powered by Intel’s Core i7 chip that is a quad-core 2GHz processor paired with an 8GB of SDRAM. It is also equipped with a high-end Nvidia GeForce GTX 560M graphics chip with 1.5GB of video memory. The chip runs the 17.3-inch display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution and LED backlighting. With the use of Nvidia 3D glasses, the user would be able to see 3D images. The display gives beautiful images with vivid colors, but 3D movies supported by this laptop aren’t as impressive as the 3D games that it caters.

Playing games with good audio gives a gamer that “game on” feeling and spirit. Toshiba Qosmio X775 3D laptops are equipped with Harman Kardon speakers that produce big and full sounds which are impressive for laptop speakers. Port-wise, the X775 has four USB ports (which one of them is a 3.0 USB port), Ethernet, VGA and HDMI ports, on the right side are the microphone, headphones and line in/line out jacks and a tray for DVD burner. The drawback of this laptop is its short battery life. It can last up to one hour and thirty minutes, which is not convenient for traveling. It is also too big with a weight of 7.5 pounds to be used comfortably in a sofa. So it means that it needs to stay plugged in for continuous use.

In conclusion, a Toshiba Qosmio X775 3D is a great pick because of its great performance and reliability in multimedia entertainment and gaming, stellar video and sounds, and 3D features despite some issues.
