HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC Review

The HP Pavilion P6720F desktop PC has huge hard drive space and plenty of RAM. These make it very effective and perfect for productivity. This is an excellent option for users who cannot concentrate on their works because of computer games. It is because it only has an ATI Radeon HD 4200 integrated graphics chip which cannot support some computer games.

This desktop PC is equipped with a 2.9GHz AMD Phenom II 840T quad-core processor. It also has an installed 6GB 1,333 MHz RAM, and a huge 1TB 7,200 rpm hard drive. It has DVD burner, and 10/100 Ethernet LAN, 802.11n Wi-Fi.

It has a simple plain black chassis. In case you want to put an additional second optical drive like Blu-ray player, there is an extra expansion bay hidden behind the the glossy black plastic just under the DVD burner. Some considered it as a slim PC with about 7 inches width. The power button lit with a subtle ice-blue LED is located at the top of the machine.

Outside of the machine has some important ports. At the front of the P6720F PC have 2 USB 2.0 ports, a multiformat card reader bay, and microphone and headphone jacks. Four USB 2.0 ports, 6 USB ports all in all, are located at the back of the machine together with an S/PDIF-out, VGA-out, DVI-out, an Ethernet port, and a support for 7.1 surround sound.

Inside the tower has just very small space for expansion. You will unable to do much expansion inside, aside from installing the video card you prefer, because of the wires bundled in the middle of the machine. Included inside are one free 5.25-inch bay, 2 additional 3.5-inch bays, one extra RAM slot, 3 PCIe x1 slots, and 1 PCI slot.

As mentioned earlier above, HP Pavilion P6720F desktop PC is not ideal for playing games. This desktop PC can only manage 3.9 frames per second according to some test. The best result of the ATI graphics installed in this PC got was just 21.5 frames per second at 1024 x 768 resolution. So if you are a gamer, try to look for other units. You will unable to upgrade the graphics card as the 250-watt power supply will prevent anything further than a lower midrange GPU.

P6720F PC can handle multitasking. You will notice the benefits of its roomy hard drive and a system with four CPU cores when you are trying to do things at the same time on this machine. It is very efficient that you will unable to notice any distructions.

The P6720F desktop PC comes with a black wired mouse with two buttons and scrollwheel. A wired generic keyboard is also included. It is also black with silver volume keys. There is also no much software included aside from the trialwares preinstalled in the computer and the HP MediaSmart video and music player.

Casual computer users will be very satisfied with the HP Pavilion P6720F desktop PC because of its overall great performance.
