HP Pavilion p6640f Desktop PC Review

Another budget computer available right now is the HP Pavilion P6640F desktop PC. It offers a great balance of price and performance. This computer is equipped with and AMD Phenom II quad-core925 processor which gives it a great performance. It is also combined with 8GB of DDR3 memory. It is a bit surprising why an 8GB memory is used because the performance might not be that affected if a 4GB DDR3 memory is used. The price might be less expensive.

Those components of P6640F were also joined by a huge1TB hard drive. It is also packed with DVD burner. In the inside of the machine, there are 2 out of 3 drive bays to play with, one of the two 5.25-inch bay, a PCI Express 16x slot, and 3 PCI Express x1 slots. The interior of the machine is a little unorganized because of its wiring. The system on the other hand is quite impressive especially to someone who is planning of putting more accessories to the desktop.

At the front of the machine, 2 USB ports are located. Although it is not appreciated by some user, the design is still great to others. The drives and front panel connections are still covered like the other HP desktop PCs. The look was just improved into more gunmetal black giving the P6640F more pretty. The back of the machine is a bit expanded with 4 USB ports, a DVI port, a VGA port, 1 GB Ethernet port and Wireless-N connectivity, a coaxial audio output, and integrated 7.1 surround sound. These combinations can already provide a satisfying performance to regular computer users.

Also included in the package is a dull wired mouse and wired keyboard. It is still the typical wired mouse and wired keyboard by HP.

The HP Pavilion P6640F desktop PC may be less impressive in performance compared to HP S5660F. Other feature that the S5660F better that P6640F is the optical player. S5660F has Blu-ray player compared to the DVD burner of P6640F. In a good point, the ability to upgrade and networking capabilities of P6640F is better than the S560F. These two areas may also have impact is your decision making which one is better. That will depend on how you will use your computer in everyday basis.

So, do we recommend P6640F? That will still depend on how you will use your new computer. P6640F and S5660F have a slim difference as a budget computer. If you love watching movies, then take advantage the Blu-ray player of the S5660F. The P6640F is a great system on its own right. So if you will use your future computer logging in online most of the time, then choose P6640F.

As included in the market for budget desktop, you must consider every option from price perspective, not merely on features. Although you might want more features of this desktop, the HP Pavilion P6640F desktop PC is already a great deal on the lower end of the price range. Nonetheless, competing systems is always helpful in the development of coming new products.
